In 2013 Tony Armstead’s Car Maintenance Service applied for a small business loan to upgrade his equipment and hire help with his hand car wash business. The Stark County Minority Business Association granted him a small loan which allowed him to purchase a new vehicle and hire part-time help. Mr. Armstead’s business was an on-site car wash business with an in-vehicle water system. His is one of the few car wash businesses that did on-site hand car washes. Mr. Armstead died suddenly before realizing the how the loan enhanced his business. However, the loan did allow his hired assistant to have a viable business to acquire and grow.
