Business Contract Awardees

Tony Armstead’s Car Maintenance Service applied for a small business loan to upgrade his equipment and hire help with his hand car wash business. The Stark County Minority Business Association granted him a small loan which allowed him to purchase a new vehicle and hire part-time help. Mr. Armstead’s business was an on-site car wash business with an in-vehicle water system. His is one of the few car wash businesses that did on-site hand car washes. Mr. Armstead died suddenly before realizing the how the loan enhanced his business. However, the loan did allow his hired assistant to have a viable business to acquire and grow.

Barton Construction and the Red Rose Cleaning Co were both able to secure a contract with the City of Canton Waste Water Treatment System. SCMBA officials met with the contractors for the new Waste Water Treatment System to encourage minority participation on the contract. The City of Canton and the Contractor, Shuck Construction were both in agreement and to include the Red Rose Cleaning Co. and Barton Construction.

Onyx Construction and City Flooring and Design were both able to secure a contract with Armatas Construction, also a member of the Stark County Minority Business Association.  The Eaglecreek Project in Hubbard, Ohio is funded through the Trumbull County Housing Authority (TMHA), with Armatas Construction as the general contractor.
