Minority Business Assistance Center
The Minority Business Assistance Center (MBAC) is designed to assist minority-owned businesses and member organizations in the growth and development of their businesses. The center works in partnership with the Stark County Minority Business Association, the Small Business Development Center, and other local agencies which serve small and minority-owned businesses.
The primary services which the MBAC center offers include;
- Access to capital
- Performance bonding
- Federal, state, and local certifications such as MBE and EDGE
- Contract opportunities
- Business and coaching and training
Misty E. Rogers, MPA, CBA is the Regional Director of the Akron Minority Business Assistance Center (MBAC) at the Akron Urban League and has been employed with the organization since 2002. She attended Kent State to obtain her Master’s Degree in Public Administration (MPA) and her Certified Business Advisor (CBA) certification. She is also a Certified Business Advisor with the GrowthWheel online platform.
